Paul Hollywood has whipped Great British Bake Off fans into a frenzy today, after he posted a picture of himself hanging out with some nudists.
The GBBO judge shared the cheeky snap on Instagram, causing fans to ask if he was “meeting the new replacement presenters?”
One fan even said “I have no idea what’s going on anymore!” –making reference to all the speculation over what is set to happen with the hit show.
Two weeks ago it was announced that the series would be moving to Channel 4, which promoted comedy duo Mel & Sue to quit, followed by telly favourite Mary Berry.
However, Paul is set to make the move when the show leaves the BBC.
In today’s pic he is sat being filmed talking to five middle aged nudists, promoting fans to question is if this is the new Channel 4 Bake Off format.
He captioned the pic: “A kinda strange day ..lol”
His followers then gave their reaction to the strange pic, one said: “Meeting the new replacement presenters for bake off? @paul.hollywood”
Another said: “Is this the audition for a bake off partner?”
This one said: “That’s what happens when you sign a contract with C4. You now host Euro Trash”
One commented: “Channel 4 GBBO has taken a weird turn.”
And this one said: “Is this you doing the auditions for the new Great British Bake Off cast?”
Scouser Paul is believed to be getting £1.2million over three years to be main judge.
It means he will bag £400,000 a series, after getting less than £100,000 a year at the BBC.
Industry experts says he could earn up to £3.5million a year with added endorsements.
The Beeb tried to convince Paul to quit too, offering him a role on Top Gear alongside Matt Le Blanc.
But after successful talks with Channel 4 bosses, Paul yesterday hit out at critics of his move.
He told a friend: “What’s odd is I’ve left nothing. Love Productions left the BBC and I’m still in the same job. I will miss Mary, Mel and Sue though, a lot.”
