She’s “destroying prejudice” — one exposed breast at a time!
A model and artist in Argentina has decided to hit the streets in her birthday suit in order to get strangers used to naked people doing normal things in public.
“It’s basically a photographic project that started in Barcelona and continued in Buenos Aires,” Paula Brindisi explained to Central European News. “It picks up the reactions that people have when seeing someone naked doing the same things as people wearing clothes.”
Acting in a totally “normal attitude” and “without being sexual,” the 30-year-old nude activist said she stripped down and stepped out in the Argentinian capital and Spanish city as her photographer friend snapped pictures of her visiting local businesses.
“No one had anything against it,” Brindisi recalled. “People told us we made their morning nicer and we even received two rounds of applause. They understood it as art.”
One of those people who wasn’t complaining was 45-year-old shopkeeper Oliver Solorio.
“I’m not sure I would insult people by showing off my rather portly figure, but I certainly don’t mind seeing her do it,” he admitted to CEN.
Brindisi hasn’t been one to keep her clothes on in the past. In 2005, she was arrested along with three men after they all stripped in public. The group was later cleared after a judge ruled that she was working on an artistic project at the time.
When it comes to her latest stunt, Brindisi says her ultimate goal is to get people to “drop their inhibitions and get naked.”
“It has to do with destroying prejudice,” she said. “It has an artistic outcome, it expresses the reaction of people, it ridicules this sensation that people have in seeing someone naked.”
