A nearly 2-acre zone of Paris’ Bois de Vincennes park is designated for nudity — but a few sickos are screwing it up for everyone.
“Voyeurs and exhibitionists come to annoy women — some masturbate in front of them,” a recently converted naturist identified only as Bernard tells French news outlet
Le Monde.
The nudie area has no toilets, and voyeurs prey on naked women while they attempt to find privacy for a pee: “There are perverts in the grove that monitor them,” Bernard’s friend William says.
Officials declared a “
no tolerance vow” against exhibitionism in the experimental space when it opened in 2017. A sign at the entrance to the nudist park — which goes au naturale from April to October — reiterates this.
Local mayor Catherine Baratti-Elbaz tells Le Monde that, after receiving complaints, park patrols were increased to “limit these parasitic” punks.
The district police commissioner, Hugo Arer, says five arrests were made last July for “sexual exhibition” near the clearing, and other violators have been removed from the area.
However, Lauren Luft, president of the Paris Naturists’ Association, tells
The Guardian the issue is being blown out of proportion.
“Any nudist area like a beach, or even an ordinary beach where there are women in bikinis, will attract an element of frustrated men,” she says.
