Sharing a bath can be a playful way for parents to bond with their children.
But many believe their comes an age when children should no longer see their parents in the nude.
The question of 'how old is too old' was debated by Mumsnet users after one mother-of-two asked whether it was 'fine' for her six-year-old son to see her naked.
Some said it was when the children started school while others argued children can never be too old.
The majority of parents said it should be left to the children to decide when they start to feel uncomfortable.
One mother wrote: 'With my children I don't think they saw me naked after about 8 or 9, probably when they started preferring to cover up rather than run around naked. I think they chose to do so quite naturally, certainly it wasn't imposed by me or my husband.'
Another agreed: 'I honestly can't remember when it stopped. Probably around the age of 8 or 9 (2 sons and I'm a single mother). I think it was just a natural change towards being more 'clothed' (i.e. underwear) around the house at some point.'
However some had more concrete cut-off points in mind, with one suggesting: 'Best avoided when school age.'
Others said children might find it uncomfortable but not want to tell their parents.
One user pointed out: 'We all knew kids who's parents wandered around naked at home. Not s single one of them ever thought it was remotely ok, irrelevant of what their parents thought. Not a one.'
But a handful of respondents insisted there is no such thing as being too old.
One woman shared: 'I'm still walking naked and my kids are 13 and 10 and walking around us naked. My mum is 63 years old and I still go talk to her when she is the bath .'
Another posted: 'My eldest son is 21 and will come and talk to me when I'm in the bath.. He'll also do the dash from the bathroom to his bedroom with nothing on.'
