MUM Sonja Morgenstern thinks being naked at home is completely natural – and important for her young son to see a healthy female body.
The 41-year-old PA, who lives in Islington, North London with four-year-old Alex, says:
“In today’s world of retouched models and filtered social media, it’s very important for children to grow up seeing normal bodies of normal people.
“The first naked person they see shouldn’t be airbrushed in a magazine, or worse still, pornography. They should see nakedness as normal.
“Whether I’m tidying up the toys or watching kids’ TV with my son, I don’t worry whether I have clothes on or not.
“My son sees my C-Section scar and knows that’s how he was born. He knows all about his body and uses the proper words for his body parts.
“It’s all completely normal and natural to him. That’s how I want my child to grow up, seeing normal, healthy adults with flabby bits and bobs.
“I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been, my body has changed since having a child but it’s all part of normal life.
“Opposite my flat there’s an office. Some mornings I see people at their desks as I walk around with my boobs out.
“Being naked shows you are confident, happy and accept yourself as you.”
NURSING assistant Hayley Garbutt, 51, feels free being naked at home.
The mum of three lives with husband Maurice, 53, an engineer, in Scarborough, North Yorks, and says:
“I do the housework in the nude. It’s so much nicer without the restriction of clothes. I do everything from hanging out the washing to cleaning the windows.
“To my mind it’s more hygienic. I’ll even clean out the bathroom and the loo. I’m not an exhibitionist. It’s just totally natural for me when I’m in my own home.
“My husband does tell me off because he hates that the neighbours can see me starkers. But I honestly don’t care.
“The only time it was embarrassing was when my son was in his teens and he brought some friends home. That was awkward – for them.
“I’m sure if more of us were naked at home there wouldn’t be half the body confidence issues that exist today.
“I’ve always walked around in the nude. I sleep naked, and getting up in the morning or middle of the night with the kids was quicker. It was liberating.
“I’ve been a size 16 at my heaviest, post childbirth, today I’m a size 8. But I’ve never changed my attitude towards my body.
“When I get in from work, I can’t wait to take off my clothes and feel free of a uniform or fashion.”
MARINA MIRGA, 38, loves doing yoga in the nude, claiming it is the ultimate way to appreciate your body.
The PA lives with her three-year-old-son in West Ealing, West London. She says:
“I’m at my calmest when I’m in the lotus pose with my legs crossed, eyes closed – and completely naked.
“I started practising yoga two years ago and specifically practise poses that wake up the feminine energy inside your body.
“It can be a sensual and erotic form of yoga which allows you get in touch with your feminine energy.
“Since I started going to classes and practising postures at home, I started to feel so much more connected to my body – and discovered there are certain poses I feel amazing in, when I’m naked.
“I tried it out, and loved it. Now I do yoga all the time in my living room in the nude. I close the curtains, put some music on and remove all of my clothes.
“My son is normally in bed and I usually do it first thing in the morning or in the evening.
“I wouldn’t want strangers or my neighbours to see me like this and I wouldn’t go to a naked yoga class, but it’s so freeing doing it at home.
“It’s so much more comfortable to do it naked. Tight clothing gets in the way and I feel like I really let go of everything when I’m naked.
“I don’t talk about it to friends as they aren’t interested in yoga.
“It’s made me more confident and more connected to my body and how I look and how I feel. I don’t think I’ll ever go back.”
FITNESS instructor Francesca Harding loves embracing her new slimline figure after losing more than five stone.
The 29-year-old, from Enfield, North London, fell in love with being naked after dropping from a size 20 to a size ten. She says:
“I always wore big, baggy T-shirts and men’s clothes to feel comfortable. But a few years ago I lost lots of weight. I found this new confidence and wanted to show it off.
“I’d never go naked in public but having no clothes on at home feels amazing.
“I’ve worked hard for this body so I’m going to enjoy it. If I want to walk around the house with nothing on then that’s what I’ll do.
“Clothes irritate me – especially jeans. As soon as I get home I can’t wait to get everything off.
“I have had 80 per cent of my body tattooed since losing weight too – so I like to be able to get them out.
“I used to do as much as I could to hide my body as I was ashamed of how I look. Now I’ve fallen back in love with myself, it’s important 7 to embrace that feeling.”
COOKING in the nude helped Alisa Gomez, 22, accept her body.
The full-time mum to two-year-old Aiden, lives with partner Ali Solomon, 23, a government accounts agent, in Stratford, East London. Alisa says:
“My body changed after being pregnant – but I’m still confident about it and what I look like naked. I own how I look, even if there are imperfections.
“That’s why I started walking around at home without any clothes on.
“I’m always in the kitchen as I love cooking, so I don’t bother putting clothes on. They only end up smelling of food. I’m like the female naked chef. It’s more enjoyable in the nude.
“Ali is used to it now. I sometimes forget if my in-laws are coming over and I have to put something on.
“My mum was my role model growing up. I’d often see her naked at home and remember how unfazed she was with us seeing her body.
“Being naked at home helps me remember how much I admire my body now, and how much I don’t need to cover it up.”
